Bring Your Brilliance: inside our #NotAllWomenWearCapes morning in South Shields

A room full of women in business, real conversations and shared know-how. Here’s what happened at our #NotAllWomenWearCapes “Bring Your Brilliance” networking morning — and how to join us in November.

What is #NotAllWomenWearCapes?

#NotAllWomenWearCapes is a growing community of women in business across the North East, hosted by GrowthZone AI. It brings women together for honest conversation, practical support and genuine connection — real women, real stories, real life — rather than surface-level networking.

There’s a particular kind of energy in a room when women stop performing and start being honest with each other. That’s the energy we set out to create with Bring Your Brilliance, the latest #NotAllWomenWearCapes networking morning, hosted by GrowthZone AI in South Shields.

It wasn’t about business cards and elevator pitches. It was about the quieter, more valuable things: what you actually know, what you’re quietly struggling with, and the people who can help once you say it out loud.

What happened at Bring Your Brilliance?

Women in business came together for a relaxed morning of real conversation, shared know-how and mutual support — over breakfast, with no jargon and no pressure.

The idea was simple. Everyone brought something to share — a skill, a tip, a shortcut, a contact, a recommendation or a lesson learned the hard way. And everyone brought something they needed — a question, a challenge or something they’d been trying to work out on their own.

What followed was the good stuff: introductions that turned into proper conversations, problems that found solutions two seats away, and the reminder that most of us are figuring it out as we go.

Why does #NotAllWomenWearCapes matter?

So much of business networking asks women to lead with a polished version of themselves. #NotAllWomenWearCapes does the opposite. Its whole premise — real women, real stories, real life — is that you don’t need a cape, a perfect year or a viral launch to belong in the room.

That matters even more when the conversation turns to things like AI and technology, which can make people feel behind before they’ve even started. Creating spaces where it’s safe to say “I don’t know” is how real confidence gets built.

If AI talk or business spaces make people feel behind, overwhelmed or excluded, then we need to change the way we have those conversations. Real support starts with making people feel included." — Kaye Nicholson, Founder of GrowthZone AI

From the thread

Don’t just bring your business card. Bring your brilliance.

That line became the heart of the morning. Everyone in the room already carried something worth sharing — the point was simply to make room for it.

We’re doing it again in November
